Tesmec SpA has signed, through its subsidiary Tesmec Automation Srl, of a contract for a total value of 15 million euros (10 million-plus 5 in option) with Terna Rete Italia SpA relating to the supply and installation of Automation Systems for NTG (National Transmission Grid) – “SAS 2021” electricity stations.
In detail, the Group will provide the protection, command, control and monitoring system for the high voltage substations. The system will consist of a set of electrical panels defined as “Functional Units” which contain the “intelligent” protection and control devices. These Functional Units report a station SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) which is entrusted with the functions of automation, control of field devices, monitoring of assets and environmental parameters and interface to the remote control centre. The “SAS 2021” systems installation project involves a 2-phase development, namely:
• development, construction and factory validation of the prototype;
• factory testing and subsequent installation (assembly) activities for the prototype, activation and on-site testing for the subsequent “SAS 2021” systems.
Overall, the project will last 48 months.
Carlo Caccia Dominioni, Energy Automation BU Director, commented: “ This important result confirms the validity of a path undertaken by the Group in recent years and projects Tesmec among the players of excellence in the technologies for the Automation of Electricity Networks. We, therefore, believe that this project can have important effects on the growth of our business both in Italy, where we are already a key partner for the main Utilities and on foreign markets, where the growth potential of these technologies is still to be developed. . “
